Bin Your Butts
A hypothetical outdoor media design piece for The Ethekwini Municipality intended to create awareness of the levels of plastic pollution in the ocean and let them know how they can help.
Real used cigarette butts – the world’s number one littered item – were collected from Kwa Zulu Natal’s beaches to better illustrate the message within the piece as well as contribute towards cleaning up the environment.

Poison City Brewing

A student-led campaign to assist Poison City Brewing in repositioning their beer and image so as to be able to enter into the premium beer market with their new cannabis beer, as well as clear up any confusion regarding the product.
Our concept, “Underground Poison”; aimed to capitalise on the forbidden nature of cannabis in order to create a desirable product. We also aimed to highlight the back story of the product - both the beer and the cannabis the product is named after.
Our fully integrated campaign consisted of several elements, including a “speakeasy” style event to launch the beer called: “The Poison Room”, in-store promotions including original t-shirt designs and finally, a travelling “hippie” van concept that would double as a form of experiential brand promotion and a means to initiate brand contact.

We received positive feedback from the client, who ended up using our “Poison Room” concept for the launch of their beer at First Thursdays in October of 2018.

Dodge The Dry

Focusing on the Western Cape water crisis, we partnered with Savanna Cider in order to create a campaign that encouraged consumers to conserve water in light of the impending “Day Zero.”

We felt it fitting to make use of a brand that is all about “staying dry” in order to make consumers aware of the possibility of a future without water.
The campaign was titled #DodgeTheDry and involved a TV/Youtube advertisement, a bottle redesign as well as a series of posters and social media posts.

Mavericks

This concept aims to communicate Vega School's commitment to producing pioneers in the branding industry and the idea that these future pioneers and their work can be found at showcase.

The maverick symbol also serves as a testament to Vega's history as a pioneer in the tertiary education sector; serving as the world's first branding school and forever changing the landscape of higher learning in South Africa and the world over.
