This was a digital painting done in Adobe Photoshop. It was a symbolic and surreal piece about facing your demons, and beginning to get the strength to get up. Dragonflies eat butterflies, so to me it was a personal symbol of something that represents demons who devour your dreams. The woman here has a fixed gaze on what haunts her, and she is crouched in the shape of a cocoon, beginning to unfurl. Dogwood flowers represent a new season, as they are the first to bloom in the spring.
