JKR - Urban Honey.

The project set by JKR was to create a new brand that would help launch urban honey into the marketplace. Research suggested that urban honey was predominant produced on a small scale so I choose to create the brand as a collective. This was to encourage small-scale production, giving these beekeepers the best chance in the marketplace against larger corporations.

I developed my packaging to be variable of traditional honey packaging, taking aesthetics inspired much more by the urban environment. Interchangeable source information allows each beekeeper to showcase their product, creating a personal bond between the product and consumer.

The box was constructed using influences from locally iconic colours and typography which in this case was New York. The 'Urban Honey Registry' would then tie the variable designs together with calligraphy influenced by a honeybees flight path. The hexagons around the box then add visual clues to not only the product but the landscape of an urban environment.

The bottle on the other hand was designed to resemble a honeybees abdomen. The bottle would be made from glass and aluminum (inspired by perfume bottles) to project a pure theme that reflects the product itself, found hidden within the urban landscape.
