A typeface that I developed using the works of John Kricfalusi. Canadian animator and voice actor. Hugely influential in my work so I had to pay my homage.
Inspiration was taken from Ren and Stimpy, Stripperella, Ripping Friends, and more.
*Was acknowledged and shared by John on his Instagram*
The task: Create a typeface that embodies an artists work
Problem: How could I exemplify the work through the letters without making it look like a regular typeface? How to capture the true essence and chaos of John K. ?
Solution: Translate each key character or feature into each letter so they work cohesively together—even though no two characters are the same.
It was named "You're gonna like it I think" because the work is always zany and a bit unsure, if that makes sense. Sometimes it doesn't make sense and thats ok! Confusion and chaos is the sell.
