A melting pot of musical history, the band members of Strange Her wanted to show off their energetic emo/alt rock style. This album was largely about expectations and the desire to change your current situation... but alas, sometimes life is a tragedy and doesn't turn out how you might expect. The Wrong Kind of Mermaid brings an heavy handed, photography driven tale of tragedy in a muted color palette with visceral poses and imagery. Listen to the album and you'll get a similar taste for your auditory senses as the band's rock energy is upheld by a sophisticated, complex set of music theory and chord progressions.
