About:

Theater play "Bagadelnia" is a collection of intertwined stories from a retirement home. These stories depict its residents, each with their wondrous life stories and experiences, meeting and living together their final years in this retirement home, in local slang called "bagadelnia".

Entire play is accompanied with projected visuals onto set depicting a stack of old TVs, which act as surreal windows into the stories and events residents of "bagadelnia" go through.

Author and director – Aleksandras Špilevoj
Scenography and costume artist – Rūta Lendraitytė Utalla
   Music composer – Paulius Trijonis
Video projection artists – Aurelijus Čiupas, Andrej Špilevoj
    Lights artist – Darius Malinauskas
Production:

The physical set peace consisted of inner and outer frames for each TV with white fabric for the screens. While the physical peace was relatively flat, projections were designed to amplify the look and feel of old CRT TVs with big bevels on inner frames and rounded screen effects, even when the TVs during the play were turned off.

The visuals were tightly coordinated with each scene, with TVs turning on and off and switching between views to follow events of the play.
