I was part of a group of artists commissioned to create wall murals for Saffron Stays beautiful property 8 NM, Alibaug. The theme for all the murals was inspired by signs of the Zodiac. I worked on the artworks for Taurus and Libra. The only constraint we had was to maintain a warm colour palette, which would match the Saffron Stays brand guidelines.
The murals were completed in 2 days. A big hug and thank you to Ayesha Punjabi for all the help creating them!
For the Air sign Libra, the key words I chose were balance, creative and light. The scales show harmony that people of this sign crave. The hands depict flair for craft, and all the forms have a wispy feel. The infinity lines depict how indecisive Librans are.
For Taurus which is an Earth sign, I wanted to depict something more grounded. Seemingly big and aggressive but gentle soft beings with a sensitive heart. The organic forms show Taureans deep connection to all things natural and the thick line quality is to bring forth their inherent stubbornness.
