A few years ago, Buddhists massacred a Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar. This problem has origins when the first Portuguese arrived in the XVI century and intensified the slave trade in the region. And this makes me wonder how the Buddhism lecture is creating new meanings today in a world more and more intolerant and nationalist, with all postcolonial problems in different places, resulting in violent acts like these.
