Day 1 : R I N G ⭕
.
~ to surround somebody/something
.
In the month of July 2019, Ahmedabad witness it's first International Football Tournament where the @indianfootball played against the might of DPRK, Tajikistan & Syria. Thought India didn't win, the crowd gathered at the stadium in this cricket-loving state was a milestone in itself. The crowd of 20k formed the ring of the 12th man for the team.

Day 2 : M I N D L E S S 🧠
.
~ so simple or repetitive as to be performed automatically.
.
It's being more than 3 years when I left my home to start a new life as a student of design in the city of Ahmedabad. Without any questions, every morning, mindlessly, I used to (and I'm) wake up, carry-out my chores of the day & slept back; on repeat. But every morning, the one thing that's consistent is the same view of a tree with a bird waiting to start his day too, mindlessly.

Day 3 : B A I T 🎣
.
~ sometimes intended to entice someone to do something.
.
Locally known through various names, the traffic police at the crossroads have always been the blunder of the day for most of us, especially when we ought to risk drive. Lucky, I never had an encounter with the Pandus of my city. Recently, the Government of India hiked the penalties for motor laws, leading to hilarious outcry made by woke teens of the Urban India, who every-time fell into the Bait of Law.

Day 4 : F R E E Z E ⛄
.
~ an act of holding or being held at a fixed level or in a fixed state.
.
With world talking more & more about moving towards a climate war, the city of Kolkata is losing one of it's torch bearer of the war - Trams; once played at every hooks of the city, now have succumbed to few routes. But even on these few, the new age threatened it's existence, whereas inside the tram, one can feel being pulled into it's glorious past, freeze; when they were the king of the street. It was in 2017, when I last boarded the tram from Esplanade to Sealdah, now closed.

Day 5 : B U I L D 🏗️
.
- The style or form of construction of something.
.
"Travellers takes paths, wanderers create them" is quite a bit of truth for anyone visiting the small town of Siddhpur which is a 3 hr bumpy bus ride from Ahmedabad in the Indian state of Gujarat. A quiet town which no limelight on a tourist map is a gold mine waiting to be mined. The town is full of deserted Parisian buildings own by Bohra community. A walk through the street, viewing the build, takes you away into the French cities; but without a visa, crowd & noise of India.

Day 6 : H U S K Y 💪
.
~ big and strong
.
British changed the course of India's history; creating new chapters to be both forgotten & cherish. One of chapter to be cherish is it's Architecture which is to be found abundant in the Heritage District of Mumbai. Visited by Millions of Mumbaikars everyday for work, pleasure, chill; yet these husky buildings stands upright, looking down at the transition of Bombay into Mumbai.

Day 7 : E N C H A N T E D 🕊️
.
~ filled with delight; charmed
.
Rivers have been the lungs for India since it's inception, and till date despite being dying out due to pollution & global warming, the rivers and it's ghats still enchanted the visitors visiting to take a break from day's work. For a larger part of my childhood while staying in Kolkata, my aunt regularly used to take me to the Bhatpara ghat hereby for an evening stroll by the river. Here; she still taking me to the ghats as recent as last year.
Day 8 : F R A I L 🏚️
.
~ easily damaged or broken; weak.
.
The rise & the fall of cities have been consistent in world's history; but how about being repeated 6 times? India's capital Delhi is the finest example of how the city have seen it's hills & valleys throughout it's existence; leaving numerous old, frail marks on it's landscape in from of Buildings & monuments. One of them being Qutub Minar of Meheruli Archaeological Park which stands as a symbol of heritage, but frail from inside & around.

Day 9 : S W I N G
.
~ a seat suspended by ropes or chains, on which someone may sit and swing back and forth.
.
In the early winter months of 2018, I got a chance to be part of a unique experience where a group of students of my college where picked & dumped into a village hundreds of kilometers away for a week to study the village & understand rural India more vividly, especially those who never went beyond their silver spoons. Each day before our departure & after our arrival from our camp, everyone used to take this little swing ride; a forgotten memory of their childhood which they left behind in pursuit of adulthood.

Day 10 : P A T T E R N 🔁
.
~ a  repeated decorative design.
.
Flying out in recent times have started to be a norm even among-st the middle class of the country; finding out the cheapest flight available & hoping into the boring airports for hours for their journey. But the Mumbai's CSI Airport had done a marvelous job in turning this hoping into an experience for the visitors. The terminal itself have created a benchmark in the recent times with it's Architectural Patterns of Peacock & India's largest public art display.

Day 11 : S N O W 🏔️
.
~ snow falls.
.
One of the most beautiful aspect of nature is this rare phenomenon called Snow. Here's, it's referred 'Rare' due to its Spatial context in which it is falling. India, being a tropical country; don't experience snowfall expect it's high mountains. So, the snow becomes a catalyst to attract Indians to see, touch & feel the beauty of Snow, which I was able to experience on my short trip to Nainital many years ago.

Day 12 : D R A G O N 🐉
.
~ a mythical monster like a giant reptile. In European tradition the dragon is typically fire-breathing and tends to symbolize chaos or evil, whereas in East Asia it is usually a beneficent symbol of fertility, associated with water and the heavens.
.
Like a mythical creature, dragon is nowhere to be seen; but still we perceive them in numerous form around us. But finding them in dead is a noticeable incident which I came across in the tourist city of Udaipur, where a skeleton of a calf was lying still, worn out of meat on a trail; in a shape of dragon to come back as a spirit to avenge it's killers.

Day 13 : A S H 🚬
.
~ the powdery residue left after the burning of a substance.
.
One of the most common, toxic, yet 'touched' ash; cigarettes has become an integral part of a number of both youth & old's lives, taking them towards a cliff of death with every puff. In India, the cigarettes smoking 'cool' people can be spotted at almost every college, releasing both of these smoke & ash from their life.

Day 14 : O V E R G R O W N 📈
.
~ grow or spread over (something) so as to choke or stifle.
.
Mumbai have overgrown; is a statement any Mumbaikar can agree upon listening. Slums, traffic, people; all have when over the limits, constantly shaping the city for future.

Day 15 : L E G E N D 📰
.
~ a traditional story sometimes popularly regarded as historical but not authenticated.
.
One of the most popular landmark of the city, have a lesser known legend surrounded with it. Story goes back to the time of economical decline of Ahmedabad during the Shah rule, when a guard at the gate allowed a strange, glowing, yet old lady to enter the city. To the sudden, the city's fortune turned for a gold & experienced a sudden boom. The guard remembered the lady & it's aftermath. After a span of days, the same lady came back to the gate stating to leave the city, but the same guard knew if he allows her to leave, the city will decline economically. He therefore asked her to stay until he ask for the king's permission to leave. Stating that he left the gate & committed suicide, keeping the lady forever in the town, who was actually a reincarnation of Goddess Laxmi & till date the city experiences economical boom.

Day 16 : W I L D 🏞️
.
~ a natural state or uncultivated or uninhabited region.
.
Away from the mainstream tourist circles, the place indeed is a hidden treasure for explorers with the urge to go away far from the notorious Indian tourists to this wild, untouched, virgin land.

Day 17 : O R N A M E N T 💎
.
~ make (something) look more attractive by adding decorative items.
.
Rajasthan have a number of forts & palaces in and around it, some popular, some forgotten & hidden; yet all of them have ornamental decor on them which till date make them stand out among-st the tourist circles, making them popular in & out of the country. One of such palaces is Jaipur's Nahargarh Haveli located above a hill looking down upon the large city-scape.

Day 18 : M I S F I T 🚀
.
~ something that does not fit or that fits badly.
.
Hurling through the Rajasthan's Thar Desert in one's SUV can certainly spot this TV Tower from a distance, which misfits the desert-scape with it's abrupt location in the middle of nowhere.

Day 19 : S L I N G 🈸
.
~ casual throw or fling.
.
One of the best example of how an institution can change the art & design scenario of a country and that too on a sling is Rabindranath Tagore's Shantiniketan. It was all based on an idea to create a school at their recreational family home in Bolpur, West Bengal in-order to utilize their family's extra time. But with a series of events, leading to more serious approaches, the Shantiniketan became a chapter in history of education especially Art & design in India.

Day 20 : T R E A D ↗️
.
~ the top surface of a step or stair.
.
One of the most visited Jain pilgrimage site located in Gujarat, is a 3000+ steps climb to the top of the hill. The stairs itself is an adventure to be tried upon with a range of people climbing up.

Day 21 : T R E A S U R E ⛏️
.
~ a quantity of precious metals, gems, or other valuable objects.
.
One of the most fascinating places of Ahmedabad is it's markets which is not less than treasure, which literally sell treasure. The Markets of Bhadra & Ravivari are the cover-pages for Ahmedabad's pride in this dimension.

Day 22 : G H O S T 👻
.
~ an apparition of a dead person which is believed to appear or become manifest to the living, typically as a nebulous image.
.
Every afternoon across every park of the country one can literally find this common sight. With the lack of couple parks & social validation, couples have to involve in such jugadu & risk taking method to have a private time, as most of them still live in their home with their parents.

Day 23 : A N C I E N T 📜
.
~ belonging to the very distant past and no longer in existence.
.
Much before even the concept of Mumbai as a city was visualized, the dense forest of then Salsatte Island had a colony of Buddhist Caves build for monks wandering in the woods as a resting place. Caves itself pause back the time to it's original state when it was built two thousand years ago with it's beautiful craving & engravings. Now, the caves is located in now SNGP of the mega city Mumbai with hundred of selfie-hungry tourist flocking in.

Day 24 : D I Z Z Y 💫
.
~ make (someone) feel unsteady, confused, or amazed.
.
One of the most vital & astonishing piece of work, which connect two cities & a million of commuters each day limped into the suburban trains of Mumbai. The bridge offers breathtaking views of the sea & city, at any given point of time, making people dizzy and capturing photos of it.

Day 25 : T A S T Y 🍜
.
~ (of food) having a pleasant, distinct flavor.
.
Travelling across the months of summer with backpacks without any rest or food can lead to one destination, i.e. hunger & when it is defeated with food, it naturally becomes the most tastiest food; which here was a Jain thali in the seaside town of Mandvi which offer a unlimited thali for a mere Rs.100 back then.

Day 26 : D A R K ⚫
.
~ (of a period or situation) characterized by great unhappiness or unpleasantness.
.
One of the most darkest sight comes when you have the most of the light, it makes you think twice before even accepting the situation. During one of my internship a year ago in a remote village of Telengana realized me how privileged I was even in that village as a guest to them. One of my then colleague @thatpolymathguy writes in his blog about it - "Yet, I don’t need to crunch or explore any numbers or data to know how deplorable and alarming the situation of the students is in the village of Nallavagu. You don’t need statistics to know your privilege; you need to see just one person who lacks that which you always had – shelter, good food, hope. We saw about three hundred."

Day 27 : C O A T 🧥
.
~ an outer layer or covering.
.
School have been always a deciding factor in every child life, which eventually shapes the adult version. The school act as coat to outside world for that few hours when the child is inside the premises. The coat, even as a canopy over the amphitheater of of the Delhi's well known school, protect the child from the shortcomings of the weather.

Day 28 : R I D E 🎢
.
~ a journey made on a horse, bicycle, or motorcycle, or in a vehicle.
.
While making multiple trips across the countryside in last few years, I had a plenty of memorable rides which were astonishing and vivid. But this one type of ride which stands out - Boat journeys; which are one of the most calmest mode and brings a temporal pause to the hectic journey, making us force to rethink on multiple aspects of it.

Day 29 : I N J U R E D 🤕
.
~ harmed, damaged, or impaired.
.
Many great cities of antiquity around the world were the center of their civilization for centuries, only to be lost to the ages, and then rediscovered centuries or millennia later, reduced to rubble and ruins, with only the largest structures still standing, and the rest mere shadows.  Other cities continued to grow and change, leading to eclectic mixes of thousand-year-old forts and temples, medieval streets and markets, government buildings put up by colonial powers, and modern high-rises, offices and strip malls cluttering everywhere in between.  But there are not many places in the world that went from being a small place of moderate importance to being the capital of the kingdom to being almost entirely deserted and nearly lost to the wilderness within a century, and in such recent history (a mere 500 years ago.)

Day 30 : C A T C H 🎣
.
~ intercept and hold (something which has been thrown, propelled, or dropped).
.
Traveling across the country makes me realized an important rule, catch whatever opportunity you get to reach your next destination. If you keep waiting for the best one, it won't never come at first place. One of notorious bus route of 85 of Kolkata shown here is an exact match for it.

Day 31 : R I P E 🌱
.
~ advanced.
.
As the word says, one always need to advance ahead to move on & along. Whether it's just a project or a city, and certain aspects of a city becomes the symbol of that advancement, being ripened among others, taking the city on it's shoulder and also, being the poster boy for it.

Hit the like button is you like it.
