Shenlong Tower

Inspired by the Spirited Ascent of the mythical rain dragon, Shenlong, this tower not only shows what can be possible when we employ natural processes to industrial endeavours, it also has the potential to stand as an icon of renewed national pride.  Shenlong was not only the source of life replenishing rain he was also the "spirit" dragon, representative of the animus of the people.  Drawing from the origins of eastern philosophic history, Ba Gua symbols representing "Earth" and "Wind" are combined to create the symbol for rising in the I Ching or "Book of Changes".
 
As is the case with any skyscraping tower, our goal was to enthrall and inspire one to contemplate the nature of man's desire to reach for the heavens. 
Rain is earth's natural air purifier.  After researching boat routes this location turned out to be optimal utilize the tower's condensation system to purify the air.  Shenlong Tower utilizes the natural process of rain to catch soot particles as it falls.
Hong Kong is one of the largest port cities in the world.  Being such they are always in need of port space, Shenlong tower aims to add a few hundred dock spaces for private and commercial boats.
Hong kong spends about 50 billion HKD per year importing freshwater from mainland China every year.  This tower aims to ease that cost by utilizing the humidity in the air to produce thousands of gallons of freshwater.
