The Globe and Mail Centre

We were approached with the challenge of creating an experience in the main lobby of The Globe and Mail Centre.

This was a collaborative process between 3 departments: interactive design team, graphic design team, and environmental design team.

Directed by Laurence Roberts, others who played a roll were myself, Ivan Padilla, David Kirk, Mark Collantes, Niël Havemann, Noha Della Pola, Justin Ho and Jesse Pope.

Two primary themes were designed, the city of Toronto through the centuries, and forest landscapes through the seasons. All scenes were designed for dawn, daytime, dusk and nighttime, which leads to a total of 72 scenes created each theme.

I worked on the forest landscape theme. My job was to sketch the landscape compositions for 5 different forest scenes. I then had to develop a design method and create 5-7 tree assets for a variety of trees, and create each of those assets in all four seasons.
Mockup: David Kirk base visual creation, Laurence Roberts edits, direction and mockup generation

MY TREE ASSETS
These are some examples of tree assets I designed and created. Each tree was created in several sizes (about 6-7 per tree type) and again in each season, for a total of 96 trees.
