Hand embroidery on silk organza and ILEA Objects

Museums have online databases where they put their collections for anyone to access. It is a very useful tool for research. The objects from museums are available to view with detailed descriptions that are sometimes not available on the actual museum labels. But going through these data bases I
found that some objects do not have an image uploaded with the description. This maybe due to copyright or resources issues. If you remove the museum context, it can be any fragment made in that material with that mark or pattern on it. One can create an imaginary museum of their own with
these description labels!
I used the descriptions from online museum databases and related them to the descriptions of the ILEA collection objects and created a database or imaginary museum with these objects. The text from online labels was hand embroidered onto silk organza and placed on top of ILEA Collection objects creating an installation.

This installation was done in collaboration with UAL Archives and Camberwell ILEA Collection. This project was selected for MA Select group show at Camberwell space, London.
