This was a university project, we were asked to create a self-portrait with any artistic method. I decided to interpret myself through a text (kind of based on the theory of Jacques Derrida), and make a three layer portrait, where the first layer reflected the outer world from my perspective, the second one symbolized me from the perspective of other people, and the third showed the the core of myself.
The person is textual, the text is material
The second layer: I made a small survey and asked my friends and mates, what words would they use to describe me, and as they were from different countries, the terms were in russian, german and spanish
The words were sewn into the foils for showing the idea of inflexible opinions, that we often build of other people.
