The Thaw

"In the memoirs of contemporaries, everyone has their own thaw, and everyone agrees except in describing the atmosphere of liberation, something elusive that was
in the air." The book is conceived to be airy, it has a lot of white space, wide margins,
a light Figgins Sans typeface. During the thaw, the territory of freedom expanded,
but still it was freedom within certain limits: the area of the main text is fixed on the page, and images and notes move freely within the grid. If a note or image falls into the main text area, it is reduced by the required number of verticals or horizontals of the grid.
When there are no images and notes on the page, the text is divided into two columns. Thus, each page of the book is different from the previous one.

"They did a thaw, they melted the snow with the warmth of their hands and breath, people, personalities." Most of the photos in the book are of people. The book is completely black and white, inspired by the atmosphere of the films of the thaw period.
In each section there are gray inserts with large quotes from articles.
