The Client
Granby is a town in southwestern Quebec, located east of Montreal, and is the home of about 60k citizens.
The Goals
• Update the interface from A to Z.
• Ensure the best user experience.• Consider a very high level of accessibility and contrast.
The Challenge
Because Granby is mostly populated with families and elderly people, the website must be as user-friendly as possible, while also useful, informative and straight to the point. People from all ages will come to the website to find the info they need, and it has to deliver. As painlessly as possible.
The previous website dated from the early 2010's and was ready for a change.
The Solution
Truly optimized for mobile use, the new website is lightning-fast. The interface is well thought and is maximizing the possible actions while reducing the clicks (or taps) to the minimum.
Sticky buttons and strategically placed UI elements help trim down the number of actions needed to complete a goal. Finding the list of summer's activities? One single button. Accessing the whole menu? One single button.
Lastly, the powerful search functionality is truly refined to offer the quickest experience while searching on the go.
A powerful intranet
I was also asked to design the intranet homepage. The fresh new look has been transposed into the portal. The goal was first and foremost to encourage employees to communicate via the intranet.
