ta.mi is a new material made out of locally gathered tea waste and natural binders. Its aim is to reduce noise pollution mainly in Istanbul, Turkey by upcycling the tea waste into products that have a relatable story to Turkish people and create healthier interior and exteriors.
ta.mi started with the question of:
“How can I enrich the tea culture of Turkey by appreciating it’s waste as new creative products?”
After this question, development of ta.mi table started and the result is on the pictures. In Turkish culture, people often gather and drink tea while having a conversation. ta.mi table is a way to sustain this culture and at the same time it absorbs the sound in between.
