FINAL MAJOR PROJECT:
GENDER STEREOTYPES
For my Final Major Project, I wanted to produce screen prints based on stereotypes surrounding gender. I believe stereotypes are harmful and can cause a lot of distress for people. For example, why can't men like pink, show emotion or wear make-up? Why do women have to be soft spoken, obedient or be attractive? These assumptions can be detrimental to a person's mental health. My goal was to highlight the harmful rhetoric towards gender,and contradict it within my prints.
