Teochew Festival 2017 was initiated to celebrate the overall achievements the "Teochews" have made thus far in Singapore. It also aims to showcase its heritage, culture and expertise as a group. Therefore, the design was heavily influenced by culture and historical references so as to exemplify the heritage of the Teochews. It was designed as a continuation of Teochew Festival 2016, telling a story of the arrivals of Teochews into Singapore.
