Smell the Flower
Design for Enriching the Experience of Pour Over Coffee
「Smell the Flower」是手沖咖啡用的一組溫度計與秤，將手沖咖啡中的量測環節與動作，做了較感性、視覺性地轉化。「咖啡豆秤重」轉換成「插花」，而「閱讀溫度計的數字」以「聞花香」來呈現。
「Smell the Flower」は、美味しいコーヒーを淹れる時間を”味わい深い”ひとときに変えるために生まれた秤と温度計である。「コーヒー豆の量の計測」のための秤には「生け花」のような心静まる美しい所作を与え、「水温の計測」のための温度計には「花の香りをかぐ」ような心安らぐ柔らかい時間をもたらすようにデザインした。
"Smell the Flower" is a set of thermometer and scale for pour over coffee. It transforms the measurement steps and movements of the pour over coffee more relaxing and sensuous. "Coffee Beans Weighing" is converted into "Flower Arranging", and "Reading Thermometer" is presented as "Smell the Floral Scent".
在英文中，「Smell the Flower」有停下腳步放鬆、忙裡偷閒的意思。藉由溫度計與電子秤的再設計，將沖煮過程中理性的數字抽離，擺脫如科學實驗般的緊張感，並使手沖咖啡變成一件更優雅與美麗的事。
「Smell the Flower」は、「ゆっくりと羽を伸ばす」という意味がある。 数字を用いた科学実験のように味気ない計測を、花を愛おしむような深みのある行為に転換することで、ハンドドリップコーヒーの新しい楽しみ方を提案する。
In English, “Smell the Flower” means to relax, and to take time out of one's busy schedule to enjoy the beauty of life. Through the redesign of the thermometer and the electronic scale, the rational procedures are transformed, the tension atmosphere and scientific ways are removed, and makes pour over coffee turn into a more elegant and pleasant experience.

I added the beautiful action of flower arrangement (ikebana) to the delicate act of weighing.
Leaves and fruits are weights and can be put on your favorite branches depends on your mood.
「溫度的氣味」– 溫度計
The Aroma of Temperature - Thermometer
隨著水蒸氣飄散，十片花瓣緩緩旋轉，就像花朵盛開。
水溫高低，在凝視花脈紋理的片刻知曉。
お湯の温度を計る温度計。 水蒸気が上がるとともに、
金属製の10枚の花びらがゆっくりと開花する。
繊細な花脈はその瞬間の湯温をさし示す。
As the water vapor rises, the ten petals made by metal slowly rotate, just like the flowers bloom.
The delicate flower petals indicate the temperature of hot water at that moment.
