Ilulissat, Greenland

Ilulissat is a town on the western coast of Greenland.  It has a population of about 5,000 people and almost as many Husky dogs.  It is the third largest town in Greenland and is 220 miles inside the Arctic Circle.  It looks out to Disko Bay where the Kangia Glacier meets the sea, disgorging enormous icebergs.  Kangia Glacier is the largest in the northern hemisphere and is one of the world's fastest and most active.  The main industries are tourism and fishing.  For 2 or 3 summer months it never gets dark, sunrise following soon after sunset, and it is the opposite in winter.
The outskirts of the town with the Kangia Glacier / Ilulissat Ijsfjord in the background.  A major fog bank approaches at about 6am.  Soon after, the scene was completely eclipsed.

The harbour with many small fishing boats
A mature female husky dog - one of many !
Cute !
A male leader - don't mess with him
Let me out !
The airport (airstrip ?) at Ilulissat.  The terminal building is bottom right - there is just one gate with a large helpful sign saying "Gate 1".
