A Caffeine Pilgrimage.
There's nothing more soothing than listening to coffee beans grind while they swirl around the the cone like a tornado emitting a scent that makes your day just a little brighter. It was a cold wet afternoon in the great city of London. While I scavenged the bustling streets that glistened in the rain, the petrichor healed the pain from all the long walks, a red facade stood between two buildings. It read - Algerian Coffee Stores Ltd.

I walked in with a dire need of fuel. As I swung the door open, the aroma made its way to my lungs and the smiles over the counter to my heart. This series documents a place over 130 years old, a place that astonishingly still sells espresso shots worth a £. The wooden display case and counter haven’t changed in 128 years. These jars consist an array of coffee beans including Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, reputed to be one of the most expensive coffees in the world and predominantly exported to Japan. The store also sells coffee flour, made from the fruit that surrounds the bean, which surprisingly does not taste of coffee.
