Steel Fabricated Stool

I took Introduction to Metal Shop at 3rd Ward in Brooklyn, New York. Taught by Joey Grimm, I learned to MIG weld, opperate a plasma cutter and several types of grinders and sanders. The goal of the course was to create a shop stool of Joey Grimm's design, unless we had a design of our own we wished to execute. As an Industrial Design student, I took the oppertunity to create my own stool.
Technical drawing (1:1) done directly on the shop floor in soapstone. This enabled me to lay steel bars directly over the drawing to quickly figure out the proper angles of cuts.
Beginning of fabrication.
End of Week 3.
End of out of class work session #1.
End of polishing in out of class work session #2.
