The Midnight Station: Collector's Edition

The Midnight Station is a game released by Studio Anjin in 2014.
The purpose of this project is to give it a physical edition, while interpreting the game world in a creative way.
The game's logo alludes to the aesthetic of vintage decorations found in old subways and undergrounds.
The game is reborn through the lens of a fictitious metropolitan transportation company, which got its own logo and identity
based on symbolism and ZX Spectrum aesthetics.
All elements of the edition are framed as corporate products, worded accordingly with extensive use of witty bureaucratic language and laid out in a distinctive style.
The box is adorned with an introductory letter from The Architect, typewritten on a corporate letterhead.
The game is burned onto a CD-ROM and shipped with a booklet.

The booklet, or The Traveller's Guide, contains a subway map, which is a topological simplification of the game's actual world.
In-game locations are illustrated by use of a special technique, combining traditional drawings with computer effects.
A set of instructional pictograms was devised
to keep visitors on their way.
The original soundtrack is mastered and recorded to a tape,
containing 5 exclusive character themes cut from the final game.
Included diskettes contain classified documents and should in no way be reproduced. The labels are done on a dot matrix printer.
ATA sponsors have kindly included an advertisement for
Mineral Glue, their most popular product.
Please make sure to register your copy as is required.
The physical edition is produced in association with various print workshops and assembled by hand in household conditions.
To truly light the way, one cannot accept lies — only answers.
