Challenge
How can I build an educational and informational website to empower young women to be actively involved in their own health care?

Context
Given the topic of healthcare, we were allowed to choose any topic we wanted to broach and create a website for whatever audience we wanted to appeal towards. As a young woman myself, I felt that while there are a lot of health-related issues for any group of people, the landscape of health and healthcare for young women is especially difficult to navigate.

Iterations
Women’s Counsel
With those last comments of feedback from my mentor and professor, I worked on developing a new module that I felt would better engage my target audience.
In this reformed module, there would be a more dominant element for the user to focus on – a relevant event or further information displayed for one of the women’s health topics. This allows for more ways for the user to enter the site and more tokens of interest that might capture the user’s attention more easily.
Wrap up
Young women are owners to bodies that are constantly developing. Especially in adolescence and early adulthood, being a woman is a trying time – there are a million questions. The design of Women’s Counsel allows young women to easily find the answers to their questions and concerns, to explore relevant topics in living a healthy lifestyle, to maintain up-to-date on the most current and correct news, and to engage in a community of others just like them.
