Eroded Landscapes of La Gomera
In the north of La Gomera island (Spain), just above the Agulo village, you can find spectacular eroded landscapes of striking reddish tones, furrowed by deep gullies.
These extraordinary textures bathed in red tones are due to its high iron oxide content and very acidic and somewhat salinized soil. Erosion is related to the disappearance of the protective vegetation caused by excessive exploitation of this area in the past.
This series was made with a top-down view using the DJI drone. I am more and more fascinated by the new photography perspectives which these devices provide.
