PRIVATE POLYMERS

For Private Polymers we photographed 13 people with their oldest item made out of plastic. Often plastic is something we buy and throw away the same day after unwrapping our groceries or finishing a chocolate bar on the way somewhere. However plastic is incredibly durable – in fact it can follow you from cradle to grave if you take care of it. This is both a wonderful quality, but also a dangerous one. If not handled with care and consideration, plastic can end up in the wrong places and disturb our ecosystems severely. Also plastic is derived from fossil fuels and is thereby a non-renewable resource that will soon be a thing of the past if we continue consuming it as rapidly as we do now. So hold on to your plastic items, reuse them and recycle them – if handled with care they can last a lifetime.
