"BECAUSE IT HAS ALREADY BEGUN"
This illustration was something I had been wanting to do for a long time. An absolute vanity project, so to speak. It probably means more to me than anyone looking at it. For the first time I have taken someone else's work to interprete. And it had to be Akira. Not only is Akira possibly the most beautifully animated movie ever.. it also has an everlasting message, that makes this masterpiece so holistic and outstanding.
Therefore, I granted myself alot of time to get this done right and to keep the process fun at all times.
The illustration is aimed at the scene towards the end of the movie when Kaneda realizes what and where Tetsuo is going to be.
