Matchday Graphics
During summer 2019 I was approached by LiveWire Sport to create social media content during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, hosted in England & Wales. These social media graphics would go on to feature on the @ICC and @CricketWorldCup social media channels across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Each graphic was delivered in three different size formats 16x9 for Twitter, 9x16 for Instagram Stories and square for Instagram posts.
Matches 1-6
The group stages consisted of 45 games between 10 countries all placed in big group, each team playing each other once. To promote these matches I created 6 different matchday template graphics which were updated for each fixture with the relevant teams, date and location to inform fans and create hype.
Matches 7-45
Each fixture featured key players from both teams, which made clipping paths from and the enhanced using a combination of Photoshop and Lightroom. There were 6 different styles that were rotated for each game, all of which followed the specifications set out in the ICC Cricket World Cup's brand guidelines while experimenting with the creative tools at my disposal in Photoshop. I designed these fixtures using a combination of brush strokes, blending modes, textures and treatments in Photoshop combined with bold colours and typographic styles.
Reactive Graphics
To complement each matchday fixture I curated reactionary social media content based on stand out highlights from certain games for the ICC's social channels. These included key moment's such as Ben Stokes' catch vs. South Africa, The Sheldon Cottrell Salute, a masterful innings from Kane Williamson and more.
Finals Graphics
For the Semi-Finals and Final of the Cricket World Cup I designed more bespoke and prestigious designs to celebrate the importance of the showpiece matches. The final designs were collage-inspired graphics featuring key players, highlight moments throughout the World Cup so far and match info. These designs were created to three different ratios for Instagram, twitter and instagram stories.
