COLLATERALS DESIGN

HONGKONG LAND & MCNAMARA ART PROJECTS

A series of twenty five significant sculptures by the post-war British sculptor Lynn Chadwick are showcased at Landmark in celebration of Art Basel in Hong Kong. In documenting this, we created a book that represents and educates about Lynn Chadwick’s masterpieces with an accurate and interesting narrative, that is captivating for audiences of all ages. The event kickstarted Hong Kong Land’s initiative to introduce public art to Hong Kong.

WORK SCOPE

TESTIMONIAL

‘Before I even met with the team, I knew that they were the design agency that I wanted to work with. I knew this from looking at their portfolio. It was clear to me that they had fully understood each brand or organisation that they had worked with, as their creative output captured the true essence in each project. And this is exactly what they did with my exhibition. I approached them to help me design the catalogue, invitation and signage for my public exhibition of sculptural works by the late Lynn Chadwick in Hong Kong. I knew that for the exhibition to be successful, in both by being educational and by drawing visitors, I would need collateral that stood out and was engaging. I wanted to create an interpretation of not only Chadwick’s works, but also his aesthetic and sentiment. This was very important for me. They were able to perfectly capture these elements in their design of both the exhibition logo and the experience of the catalogue and invitation. The logo that they designed embodied Chadwick’s figuration and what he called ‘Attitude’, coupling both the form and texture of the material for both the invitation and catalogue cover. This was a remarkable feat considering Chadwick has such a unique language that was synonymous only to himself. The catalogue gave an idyllic journey through both the life and works of Chadwick, creating an experience within itself that fully represented the emotion of his works. The true testament to their work came when Sarah Chadwick, the daughter of Lynn Chadwick, picked up the catalogue and said, “This is one of the most remarkable catalogues I have seen from any of my father’s exhibitions over the past 60 years”. Chadwick’s energy, aesthetic and attitude had been truly captured.’
