Jochen Hartmann's profile

Building the innovation machine.

The brief called for an architectural and urban response to the coming tech campus that Cornell University is building on Roosevelt island. We were asked to envision how that transformation might play out in Long Island city. The project in the end turned into a low-cost start up innovator that could be financed for around $80m and generate approx. $25m in rent income per year. Project consists of office landscapes and hotel complex.
Final project for advanced architecture studio V, Fall 2012. Critics: Laurie Hawkinson, Vishaan Chakrabarti.
