Introduction
The project is coming from an amazing training on Udemy called
"UX : The Ultimate Guide to Usability and UX"

Project Summary: Find My Pet is an app connected to a GPS tracker launched by a start-up. The product allows people to track down wayward pets who may have got lost, run away or been dog- napped. It shows the fastest route with a clean, simple user interface. I worked by myself for the entire project.

Problem : Everybody who owns a pet have already experience the fear of losing of the loss itselft. What should we do if he/she run away ? What happends if I don't find him/her ?

Solution : With a GPS tracker inside the pet or in the pet's collard, Find My Pet allows pets owners to find their pet if they ran away. The apps also includes possibilities to inform friends, veterinarians or neighbors to help finding the pet.
Step 01 - Define
Strategic objectives
The start-up has the technology ready for the GPS tracker’s collar. It needs all the work done for the system.

Requirements
The company is thinking of an app for the mapping system, but leaves the final decision to the user need. It will depend on the user research.

Business Goals + User Goals
Track wayward pets. The user research will show the user needs and the changes the app will need to meet them

Step 02 - Discover

User Research
My first step was to conduct user interviews. I prepared some questions and I made interviews with friends, family and people in the street who had a company pet, 9 potential users in total. Here are the results :
 - 70% claimed that their pet already escpaded or that there is a risk
 - 63% of those 70% had completely lost their animal
 - 100% would download and use such an app
 - 82% would be ready to pay for this service

Personas
Based on those interviews, I made some personas :
Step 03 : Wireframes
Step 04 : Prototype
Conclusion
I really enjoyed doing this non-profesionnal project, especially the UX research part. It gave me a good overvview of the full UX/UI process and what can be expected from users. Despite the differences between them, they all shared the same goal. The emotion factor was very strong on this project as we were dealing with a possible loss of their life partners. I was surprised to see how speaking with users clarified instantly the basic features they would need to solve their problems and make their lives better.
