Lesson 4 Visualizing Data

Lesson 4 Visualizing Data
This project was a continuation of the scenario chosen in Lesson 3.  Each student was tasked with created an infographic to be used as part of the training for their customer.  There were not additional guidelines given as it was up to each student to determine what information was relevant for their customer, what source the data would be coming from, as well as the presentation of the data.  As Tellotech is a medical call center, the data set chosen allowed the operators insight into their callers and put a value on the work/service the operators provide.

The primary audience of the infographic was the call operators.  The infographic was created with the purpose of humanizing the callers for the operators and evoke empathy/compassion for the callers, making the operators more emotionally invested in quickly and efficiently helping the callers receive a resolution to their problem.

There were multiple steps to this assignment, the first being to create sketches of 8 different ideas.
Above are the 8 different sketches.
This was the one selected as the base moving forward with the assignment.
From this sketch, a rough draft was created including demographic and health information of the different types of callers that the operators would most likely be interacting with.  Elements to affect the subconscious mind of the operators were included to increase the effectiveness of the infographic.
Above is the rough draft of the infographic for Tellotech.
After feedback from Mr. Bunner-Sorg at Tellotech and my peer, the infographic was updated with a title to clearly state the purpose of the infographic to the callers as well as the lighter yellow/orange text was incorporated into the subtitles of the demographics.
Above is the final deliverable to Tellotech.
