The Mechanical Race is the world's second major Technological race since the Space Race.
After the extraterrestrial attack by the Mycederm in 2069 (known as the "Divine Defense"), the world put its cogs together to use this threat as fuel for never-before-seen, highly advanced technological developments.
The varying symbols being fed into the gears are all different logos and symbols representing the Mycederm.

Process:
I began with a quick sketch illustrating large gears grinding up the "Divine Defense" logo (DD) into bits, and realized I can use many different original icons that symbolize the threat.
I overlaid a metallic texture that also made the piece look painted/varnished.
