Information Graphics - Packaging Design

My task for this project is to design the promotional materials to help promote an exhibition for 3 artists.

I chose to create packaging to promote exhibitions for; Salvador Dali, Frank Miller and Linda Boucher. These artists all have very different styles and artistic genres. I specifically chose them this way so that I could use different sorts of packaging to promote each artist.
Linda Boucher - Brighton Based Artist

I chose to design an up-market shopping bag as packaging for the exhibition for Linda. Examples of her artwork are displayed on the bag, which would hold various advertising and goodies for every delegate who comes to the exhibtion. I think the shoping bag fits very well with her style of artwork, in which she is famous for portraying gorgeous shoes and glamorous women. This feeling of glamour is represented by the stylish bag which is printed in gloss card, which is common to other up-market shopping bags.

The net for the shopping bag can be seen below, with the actual finished bag shown below this.
These are the two examples of her artwork, which I have used for the bag. They are typical of her work - very glamorous.
Frank Miller - Comic Artist

Frank Miller is a very famous comic artist, probably known most for the artwork for Sin City. I chose to design a popcorn box using a sketch from one of his comics, which portrays a prisoner in a cell. The packaging net for inside and outside of the popcorn box can be seen below. I have also added a net for the seat inside the cell and also a cut out for the prisoner himself.

Each delegate arriving for the exhibition of his work would get a popcorn box filled with popcorn to eat whilst they admire his work. When they get to the bottom of the box, the prisoner is revealed under the popcorn.
Below are the two comic book sketches I used as inspiration for this packaging.
Salvador Dali - Surrealist Artist

Dali is most famous for his surrealist art, which is very striking. I chose to represent a piece of his work on a coffee cup sleeve. Delegates to his exhibition will get a coffee to drink whilst perusing his artwork. It serves as a nice souvenir of the exhibition. Coffee drinking is still very trendy and so fits well with the trendy art scene.

The net for the cup can be seen below. It has handles and slips over a regular coffee cup as a sleeve.
This is the piece of artwork I chose for my packaging. I chose this as it looks striking and I think is very beautiful. When used as packaging for a coffee cup, I think it makes for a very attractive memento.
