ME Project: The Fortune Cookie Framework by Yap Zhi Juin
Inspired by the fortune cookies my late aunt has given to me, this Me Project revolves
around reliving my memories of her fortune cookies, as well as helping myself accept
her passing. Bandage tapes, wound dressings, and cotton sponges were mainly used
for messages and mark-making. This is, ultimately, to symbolize the process of healing.
There are also three main stages to my healing process: from the grief from my past,
to the regrets that remain today, and finally to gradual acceptance. The messages
were arranged accordingly — hence, becoming a fortune cookie framework.
