- Amazing Women Project -
"Amazing Woman" is a personal project born from the desire to pay homage to different female figures in the more or less recent past.
For centuries the role of women has been relegated to the background of history, without obtaining the due recognition: recently many scholarly, writers and artists have shined a light on this aspect with works and contributions of different kinds.
With "Amazing Woman" I want to pay homage, in my own way, to “the other half of the sky”, choosing some of those women who made history, demonstrating their value in various forms and in different fields: from art to literature, from science to politics, whose stories struck me one way or another.
The ultimate female pilot.
Betty Gillies became a pioneer in aviation, not just for women, but for all pilots; she was the first pilot to qualify for the Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron, later amalgamated into the Women Airforce Service Pilots.
