This is a book cover/chapter design entry I created for Kah Publishing in Seattle, they asked artists to submit designs of their favorite books. "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley is an awesome book that I think everyone should read, and it describes my style and personality very well. The cover is drawn in ink and painted in water colors; it is inspired by a practice in the story in which children are born in test tubes under the state of law, detaching the human race from their very nature. The chapter 9. design depicts John, a savage born from a mother on the Native reservation who loves to read, brought to the new world where everyone finds him amusing for being so odd. The design for chapter 11. depicts the masses willingly taking their "soma" drug to feel happy and to keep them sedated from feeling emotions that may disrupt the greater whole of society.
