For a new craft brewery brand, I want to incorporate the city of Philadelphia, PA. The brand is to consist of the cities history and Philadelphia has plenty of it. With its rich historical heritage, Philadelphia is one of the United States most visited cities. Both the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were signed in Independence Hall. Many historical figure also called this city their home, like Benjamin Franklin. Before Washington, D.C., Philadelphia served as the country's capital. The nickname for the city is “City of Brotherly Love”. Philadelphia is called this because its known for having a laid-back vibe and a very diverse and accepting atmosphere. Philadelphia today is filled with beloved sports teams, art and museums, a busy nightlife, and a flourishing restaurant scene.
The city has a unique collection of public art. From murals to sculptures of historical movies to grand fountains. Graffiti murals are sometimes authorized to make Philadelphia a "museum without walls." Philadelphia has a thriving dining scene. New dining establishments are made almost everyday. Certain areas in Philadelphia are known for different restaurants. The high end restaurants are around Old City. You can enjoy different cuisines like French, Indian, and Japanese in Center City. In areas like South Philly or Center City, you can find Italian cuisine. Philly's trademark sandwich and soft pretzels are best in South Philly.
For the label, I want to incorporate Independence Hall. I want to incorporate this building and stylize the label to fit that colonial time period. Independence Hall was the birthplace of the U.S. It is where the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence was written and signed. The building started its construction in 1732 and completed in 1753. Independence Hall is a red brick building designed with a Georgian style. It consists of a central building with bell tower and steeple. There are two smaller wings that are attached by hyphens. The highest point to the tip of the steeple is 168 ft. 7 1/4 inches above the ground. It was built as the colonial legislature for Pennsylvania, then later called the Pennsylvania State House. The building housed all three branches of Pennsylvania's government. This building is where George Washington was appointed Commander in Chief of the Continental Army in 1775 and the Articles of Confederation were adopted in 1781. With its importance in America’s history, I believe that this would be great to incorporate this building into the brand.
