These designs were made for djz.com, a website based out of San Francsisco, CA, which is dedicated to the artists and culture surrounding the international EDM scene. The client wanted to include some aspects of the artists' established identities, so I did a bit of research for each before getting started on them. I was given the artists Fei Fei and Minnesota to complete designs for, and below is the process for each.
Minnesota

I prefer to build my own typefaces, so I created this one specifically for this design. I am working on developing it into a complete typeface which I plan to make available for download once it's done.

Fei Fei

These were the feathers I illustrated which were used in different scale to construct the logo.

The finished logo after coloring, wish some added feathers at the bottom to balance out the complete image.
The final Fei Fei logo with texture added to the image. The background was placed for the purpose of showing the transparency of the image, which was done so to produce a sort of washed out effect once it is printed on the garment.
I had fun with this project, and have spoken with the client about doing more work for them in the near future, which I am very much looking forward to!
