Website using interactive variable Fonts

Need to apologise, express regret, say sorry or maybe sorry - not sorry?
You probably wish something existed that could give that, hard to say, sentiment weight and look nice too eh?
Boy oh boy, do we have the tool for you! In fact you just saw it before you clicked the “about” button.
If you haven’t closed this section then you probably want to know more…
For this web toy we came up with a highly performant method to interpolate variable fonts in WebGL. We generate SDF textures and BMFont data for several key variations of the font. On execution time, given a text string, we generate a geometry where each character is a quad (using the BMFont data). For character movement, each geometry combines the quad positions for the different font variations. As per the glyph shapes morphing between variations, the trick is to interpolate SDF fragment values from the textures!
Sorry, not sorry.
