Episode 18, Penelope.
A reinterpretation of Chapter 18 from Ulysses a novel by James Joyce. Ulysses is considered both a literary masterpiece and one of the hardest pieces of English literature to read. A 4,391-word single sentence can be found in the final chapter, a monologue written to communicate the stream of consciousness of Molly Bloom. A modified dot matrix printer was deployed to allow for the stream of consciousness of Molly Bloom to be perpetually printed over several hours, resulting in a single 17meter print. Natural distortion occurs as a result of the modified technology. A project that pays homage to James Joyce's experimental use of the English language. Manifested in both installation and publication formats.
Natural distortion occurred due to the modified and decontextualised printing technology
