ONCE (Hand Bound Typography Book)

ONCE
HAND BOUND TYPOGRAPHY BOOK

ONCE alludes itself to a fairytale introduction of something that will never occur again. It is the magical instance of chancing upon something wonderful or unattainable. This handmade book is a short story that journeys from "sin" to "grace" on multiple levels of narrative over four short chapters. Meaning from Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities and Haruki Murakami's The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle are meticulously strung together through the intuitive play of words, typographic elements and the use of a single colour.

From the very front to the back cover, the play on typography and its arrangement on the grid is evident and essential to the meaning of the story. Issues of contemplation, life and soul–searching are explored as the reader draws his/her own interpretation through the juxtaposition of the two texts, the subtle wordplays, and the strong graphical elements.

Handmade, Hardcover with sleeve, Coptic bind, 76 pages.
