During the 2019 NBA Playoffs I was given the opportunity to work through Canadian agency Recess Creative for the Toronto Raptors on their official year book design, specifically the yearbook that would go to Raptors MVP Kawhi Leonard.
I was granted two double page spreads specific to Kawhi Leonard, the first was to commemorate his epic buzzer beater winning shot against the Philadelphia 76ers. Leonard hit the game-winning 15-foot buzzer-beater to lift the Raptors to a 92–90 victory—the first Game 7 buzzer-beater in NBA playoff history.

The 2nd spread was to commemorate Leonard’s rise in the North.
It was An amazing sports story /journey to document through lettering and ultimately watching Leonard in a historical playoff final with the Raptors beating the Golden State Warriors in game 6 at their home Oracle Arena in Oakland, becoming the 2019 NBA Champions and Kawhi Leonard being named MVP of the 2019 Playoff finals.
Aside from being used in the official Raptors yearbook, the Typographic design I created was showcased on the Jumbotron at the Scotia Bank Arena during the 2019 NBA Playoff Championship award ceremony and specifically when Kawhi received his MVP championship ring. STRENGTH IN LETTERS.
