After feeling like I was going backwards when I was living in my hometown, Tallahassee (and I run-in with an ex), I decided to move to Asheville to be with my best-friend/current boyfriend. As a transition between the two locations, I went to live with my Mom for two and half months in NW Arkansas. Besides the interaction with my Mom, I was essentially in isolation the entire time, and during that time I made these paintings.
It gave me the time that I needed to reflect, heal, really step back and take a look at the aspects of myself that were holding me back and start to let those barriers go.

As a navy brat, I am used to moving frequently but during this time I gave up most of my belongings and spent a lot of time on the road. The highway became my home. This was also the farthest I had ever lived away from the sea.
