RSA Valuing Water

The new shower product by Yorkshire Water allows customers to partake in the experience of saving water for their household and industrial businesses. This product helps reduce costs, which will allow the user to enjoy their shower for longer than the average time of 4 minutes; this is because the water they are using is being constantly re-used. The key part of this product is its filters; this cleans the used water by separating it from the soap and also catching any dirt along the way. The idea of this concept is to re-use water which can help reduce water bills both in the household & in industries, and allows the user to have a shower without having to worry about wasting water. The guilt of wastage and the worry of bills are all extinguished by the use of the brilliant new product.

Not only can this product be fitted into houses, but also it would be ideal for gym owners to invest into as they have customers who take regular showers after a session and this may help them reduce some costs and save money.
I began my project by researching into important water facts and figures to help me think about how people regard and use water and what role water plays in our quality of life. I looked into why people of today's society take water for granted and what the consequences of losing a reliable a clean water supply may be.
I created a small brainstorm and came up with possible product concepts which could help save water
After coming up with many different concepts, I created a shower product which could help save water 10x more than any other product in the market. The idea is simple. The shower collects water, filters it, seperating the dirt from the water, and then reuses the water for a longer shower.
With my product using a filter to clean the water, I came across a similar product which helped me understand how the filter works. The product is a water-purification bottle called Lifesaver created by Michael Pritchard. It is the World's first and still only water bottle to remove all bacteria, viruses, cysts, parasites and fungi from dirty water, which then makes it save to drink.
Just like a dirt catcher and filter fitted into jacuzzi's, the same will be installed in the shower to ensure the dirt/soap is seperated.
Final drawings of my product showing the shower design, how the filter would work and also the floor.
Development of the product.
