My conference theme is on colour and how widely it is used in art and design. The name ‘Expand Your Palette’ is based on two meanings, one being related to the colour palette that a designer uses in their work and the other is a taste palette which is where the imagery of the mouth and tongue originate from. I also use expansion of the colour palette through the three touch-points: the poster has imagery of the primary colours, the brochure incorporates the secondary colours, and the way finding uses the tertiary colours. I wanted to convey a fun atmosphere where people of all design backgrounds could attend and all learn something to expand their own palette of knowledge on the subject. If I was to do this project again, I would’ve maybe chosen a topic within colour to narrow the subject matter, and I may have used colour more expressively throughout my touch-points.
