Since the time humans discovered the use of different fabrics to adorn their bodies, the impact and importance of an 'istri' (a clothes iron) cannot be denied. It is an object that was used by the rich, while the poor needed it too. Unknowingly this simple device has become a very integral part of our lives.
Through this book, I have made an attempt to trace back the origin of the istri and walk the journey till date using the lens of a very common istri wallah, Om Prakash, residing in a corner of Mumbai.
