Break for loversāāāāāāā.
: Ā« Break for lovers Ā» is a personal sketching project made in 48-ish hours.
: By focusing on poses and specific situations, I try to find more creative form factors that respond to emotional needs.
: The goal of the exercise is to focus on design work.
We start by doing a large number of gestural sketches of furniture that responds directly to poses and stories of the everyday : Playing videogames, talking with a loved one, watching movies with friends.
The song Ā« Break for Lovers Ā» by Men I trust inspired me to imagine a piece of furniture that would adapt to a couple trying to chat.
The core idea revolves around a cushiony and welcoming couch that lies on a tubular structure that folds in itself, like hands holding, or crossing legs.
