SHELTER EXPERIENCES
In the summer of 2014, war operations were carried out between
Israel and the Palestinian National Authority.
In Israel, sirens were sounded whenever a rocket or missile was fired from the Gaza strip.
In the area surrounding Gaza, Israeli civilians had only 00:15 seconds to find cover. This impossibly short time frame resulted an absurd social situations, bringing together people from all walks of life.
This project showcases a visual interpretation of real written civilian accounts: Moments spent in public shelters, temporary stairway safe spaces, and other hideouts responding to the sirens of the war, during Operation Protective Edge
.
This is my Final Project at the HIT University of Design 2015, Holon, Israel.

The Project contain three booklets that are designed according to the amount of time required to find a protected area. The amount of time was calculated by the Israeli home front command.
Each of the illustrations on the 3 covers represent the attacked areas, and when arranged together they create one large illustration.
