NAMING

There’s something even harder than naming a baby: naming a company.
Sometimes, it must be a name with a deep and inspiring meaning.
Sometimes, it can be just an invented word that sounds good.
Sometimes it is a boy. Sometimes it is a girl. Sometimes there’s no gender.
I've named all sorts of projects and companies - but never named a person

So let me know if you need my help :)

LANX

Business: Trading Company
Naming, Tagline and Manifesto: Bruna Castro
Visual Identity: Labis Design

I searched for a name that could transmit a feeling of agility that a trading company must have.
Lanx is easy to memorize, short and sonorous.

SUM

Business: Architecture Studio
Naming, Tagline and Manifesto: Bruna Castro
Visual Identity: Labis Design

“Cogito, ergo sum” is a phrase of the celebrated philosopher and mathematician René Descartes. The translation, as we know, it is "I think, therefore I am". In addition to signifying “existence”, SUM in arithmetics is the summation - without which, architecture could not exist. To exist and to add, beautiful meanings that represent this project.

SCHOOD

Company: Positivo Technology
Partnership with Aurora Branding
Naming, Tagline, Manifesto and Brand Book: Bruna Castro
Strategy: Viviane Camargo
Visual Identity: Marcos Minini

I had to create a name for a new technology made to connect students, parents and school.
So here it is: “hood” is the short form of “neighborhood” + school = Schood. Easy, kind of cute and also it represents the community that needs to exist around the kids.

2.A.M.

Company: Positivo Technology
Partnership with Aurora Branding
Naming, Tagline, Manifesto and Brand Book: Bruna Castro
Strategy: Viviane Camargo
Visual Identity: Marcos Minini

The task: to create the name of a new computer made for “players” - the ones who love to be gamers, but also have to use the computer for many other tasks. From the research reports, we got an insight: our target normally plays at dawn. The name 2.AM represents the nighttime and fits the hybrid concept  (the dual use) of the computer: made to play and to work.

YOUTZ

Business: School
Partnership with Aurora Branding
Naming, Tagline, Manifesto and Brand Book: Bruna Castro
Strategy: Viviane Camargo
Visual Identity: Marcos Minini

The first step was to find a name that runs away from the traditional schools, as the way this company teaches is completely different. Youtz can be understood anywhere and reminds people of empowered youth.

LANÚ

Business: Restaurant
Naming, Tagline and Manifesto: Bruna Castro
Visual Identity: Marcos Minini

Yoruba culture has a strong influence on Brazilian culture and society. Did you know that many words we use in Brazil come from this language? In Yorubá, Lanú means “to open the mouth”. Perfect for a restaurant.

HARBOR 360

Business: Smart Home product - Positivo Tecnologia & Google
Partnership with Aurora Branding
Naming, Tagline, Manifesto and Brand Book: Bruna Castro
Strategy: Viviane Camargo
Visual Identity: Julia Ghun

Harbor means port, "a place of security and comfort". Exactly what our technology wants to provide. 360 is a reference for the global vision + easy access that the product offers, through the cameras that you can access on your cell phone.
